Orange Is a Four-Letter Word In My Vocabulary

Orange and I have never really gotten along. As a matter of fact, I avoid orange is ALL situations -- clothing, shoes, accessories, furniture, hair color, etc...

I once bought orange nail polish and it was a BAD decision. See here. If you want to be all Halloween color-coordinated, then by all means by the orange nail polish. Or, if you're going for the look of spilling Orange Crush soda all over your toenails, go for it. Otherwise, don't bother.

Yeah, so orange and I just really aren't compatible.

Until last night.

We were in Lowe's to get some stuff for the knocking down of the Armageddon shed (another post for another time) and I happened to wander over to the paint section. I happen to love the Eddie Bauer paint collection, so I perused that and you know how they have those little freebie postcards that show rooms actually painted in their colors? I found one that I really liked. (I'd say love, but I'm not sure I'm ready to make that commitment.)

Are you ready for what color family it's from?

Orange.

Now before you get all crazy, it's not the same orange as that in the aforementioned nail polish. Some might even argue it shouldn't be called orange. I, however, think it's part of the orange color family. (I couldn't find the postcard online, so I had to scan and you know what happens when you scan...you lose some of the "real" color.]

See, in the room picture, it looks yellow, but in the paint swatch below ("summer walls") it looks orangey, doesn't it? We'll just go with orangey.

Even John likes it. I hope I like it when four walls are covered in it...

Taking a Page from Bart Simpson's Book

My friends can take solace in the fact that there's no danger of me setting them on fire, but I've been having to do a LOT of reminding to myself of certain things. (Maybe I should get a chalkboard? Random note, but do they even make "real" chalkboards anymore? Or are they all gung ho on the whiteboard thing?)

I will not get a small French Vanilla Coffee Coolatta on the way to work.
I will not get a small French Vanilla Coffee Coolatta on the way to work.
I will not get a small French Vanilla Coffee Coolatta on the way to work.
I will not get a small French Vanilla Coffee Coolatta on the way to work.
I will not get a small French Vanilla Coffee Coolatta on the way to work...everyday?

I will not get a small steak & cheese sub for lunch.
I will not get a small steak & cheese sub for lunch.
I will not get a small steak & cheese sub for lunch.
I will not get a small steak & cheese sub for lunch.
I will not get a small steak & cheese sub for lunch...every week?

I will blog more often.
I will blog more often.
I will blog more often.
I will blog more often.
I will blog more often...than I have been?

I will not spend hours playing Candy Crush Saga.
I will not spend hours playing Candy Crush Saga.
I will not spend hours playing Candy Crush Saga.
I will not spend hours playing Candy Crush Saga.
I will not spend hours playing Candy Crush Saga...maybe just hour singular?

Yeah, so these are just a few of the things that have been going on here lately. Things have been kind of blah (and BELIEVE ME...a small French Vanilla Coffee Coolatta and small steak & cheese sub do wonders for the blahs, but then bring on a serious landslide of guilt afterward) and that's why the lack of blog posts. (I'm busy playing Candy Crush Saga!)

BUT enough of the Negative Nelly stuff! Lots of fun stuff coming up -- a dumpster arrives here shortly and basement demo begins, my Dad arrives shortly, I'm supposed to run a 5K (I say "supposed to" because I'm potentially giving myself a pass), I'm going to have a reunion with some college friends, and for wayyy down the road, we made our plane reservations for Aruba!!!
