Belated Mother's Day Post

Even though I'm not a biological mother to any children, I am extremely lucky to have two amazing stepchildren (and an amazing husband.) They make me feel special by wishing me a Happy Mother's Day, giving me sweet cards, chatting with me on Facebook, spending time with me, and giving me special gifts.

This year I got a gift certificate to Foote Brothers, a local company that rents canoes for exploring local rivers.

I can honestly say I'm not sure I've ever canoed, but I look forward to exploring local rivers and checking out wildlife and scenery. (Let's hope it doesn't turn into a bad comedy routine, i.e, I don't try to stand up and tip it over.)

I also received a beautiful amethyst and silver butterfly necklace. (Amethyst is my birthstone.) Not a very good picture, but you get the general idea.
